Just spent an hour on the phone with Josh at True Kustom. This guy is a class act, he listen to me ramble about everything from saddlebags and lids, speakers, paint, and eventually my rear fender. I haven't even ordered anything yet, but he treated me like I've been buying his from him for years. I have to say, I can't wait to see the designs he's working on for my rear lights and the paint schemes he comes up with. I know I'm gonna love it but my wallet won't!!

Thats so important for me.
This stuff is expensive and can be intimidating and if you dont communicate properly you could order wrong or have other expectations etc..

I have been bugging about 5 venders for a month or so now as I piece together what I want to do an figure out my budget and for the most part the guys I have dealt with are very patient.
With me they have to be, I am long winded and have a ton of questions. lol

I did find a couple though who were so rushed in their responses to me they dont answer my questions and they make me feel like I am bothering them.
I wont mention them and I will not buy anything from them either, not after being treated like a nuisance.

I get that there busy but I dont need to feel that way when trying to figure out how best to spend 8 or 10k$ on a perfectly good bike.

Glad to hear this about TrueCustom, I will look forward to dealing with them myself on some parts.

Topshop has been the same way, very patient and willing to talk to me knowing I am not ordering anything for a few months and I soo appreciate that.
When you add great customer service to a company who makes great parts you have a winner worth sticking with.

I run a business and no matter what kind of day I am having or how busy I am I always let every call or customer feel like they have my undivided attention and I listen carefully to what they have to say and address it for them, it goes a long way in business.

I too have had some bad experiences with people who seem like they are too busy to answer my questions. Its even more annoying for me because I generally have to stay up until 2-3am to actually call and discuss anything with a shop because I am literally half-way around the world. I actually had one "professional bike builder" tell me how amazing it was that he personally answers the phone in HIS shop. I wll say that his other employee that I had work with before was always very helpful, but unfortuantely that employee was on vacation and that cost them about a 3K parts order.

This kind of stuff is why I always make sure I let others know when I've recieved excellent service. Too often we complain about bad service and forget to spread the word about the good guys out there.

I can vouch for Josh. Dude works hard, has great ideas, and rides like ban-chi when he gets the chance. I did not know about the gay porn...

Charlie, thanks a million bro. I dont claim to do it all right, but I give it hell doin my best.
Even I have to remember, and I tell my guys that work for me. Its too easy to bitch about things, How about telling someone they did a good job.

More small business' need to remember when they are swamped and frustrated, they are making money so take a deep breathe, have a smoke, and go to the next one and be thankful you have so many customers interested in your stuff.
