Looking for the thickest tire that will fit the factory 16x3 rear rim I am running on my Road King. I read on another forum that a 150/80/16 will fit with no mods, can anyone confirm this? I believe its either 140/90/16 or 150/90/16, but not sure any help would be appreciated.

I have a Avon AM26 Roadrider 150/80-16 Rear Tire on my 07 road King and it lined up and rides great.. that would be the widest I think you could do without having an issue. Good tire, rides well and plent of other front options and works with the or the Avon 23 inch front or VEE Rubber 26 front real well..

Thanks man where did u get the tire? how much? I have the 26 vee rubber up front and to me its a waste of money to match the rear rim when you can't really see it. I ended up buying a factory chrome mag wheel and sounds like this tire will be just right.

Just installed 2 Michelin commanders, 150/80-16. Dennis Kirk has them on sale. Looks like a 160 would fit but not many choices in that size. I had a 175/16 CT on my 06

It would be close on the belt but would probably work. I run a 150 now abd have prob 1/4 clearance each side. CTs obviously measure differently. No way would a 175 MC tire work.
Could I interpret that as suggesting a 160/60-18 may actually fit an 06?
With a 18" wheel, obviously.
