Tailbones-like adapter for '09 and up FLHX?

yardsale

We're trying to figure out which adapter is needed to convert 2011 FLHX run/turn/brake signals to work with LEDs instead of two element 1157 bulbs. The Biketronics BT300 and Badlands Illuminator web pages don't specifically list a module that works with '09 and up touring models. Anybody been through this on a late-model and know what works for sure? Thanks!

Thanks soundz. Unfortunately the Street Magic Triple Play says '97-'12 Touring (except '10-'12 FLHX)

I have a knack for buying those "special" model years where there is always something weird...

Hmmm, I can ask why. I try to not actually retain the how and the whys on all those lighting things - gets confusing and usually I just want to punch someone for stupidity! HA! I will not see those guys until later this week, so if you are still on the hunt send me a PM and I'll figure something out for you, or at least find out the "why" if nothing plug and play will work.

the new street glides have the brakelight/turnsignals all in one (circuit is in the rear fender) - where the old bikes have turnsignals and a separate honky tail light

Ahh, yeah makes sense, I never pay attention to stock. Probably just need a load equalizer for the LED's then yardsale. Basically just need to add an appropriate amount of resistance back into the line to eliminate the fast blink. A decent quality 1/2 watt or larger 1K resistor might work.

I sold my stock rear fender and I didn't strip the parts so if there is a circuit in the tail light, I don't have it.

I have a smart load equalizer already (works with the security system) but I need the converter the takes the 3-wire L/R turn/brake signals and running lights and converts it to a 2-wire system. The factory setup uses 1157 bulbs (separate running light and turn/brake elements on each side). The smaller running light element runs all the time. To make the light brighter for brakes/turn signals, they apply power to the second larger element. With LEDs, I have a single element on each side that needs the current (voltage?) level to switch from running light-level (medium bright = medium current) to turn/brake-level (high bright = higher current) on a single wire. The Biketronics tailbones BT300 does exactly this but I wanted to find out if anybody knows for sure if it works with the touring alarm system and everything else it might interfere with.

Ok, now soundz is ready to punch me for making it complicated.

LMAO! Awesome, nah you didnt - in front of me this wiring stuff is just easier. I rarely use modules, just make my own stuff instead because of my lack of planning for my own projects!

From BT's site:
"Product Description

•Add both running light and stoplight function to rear signals
•Will not interfere with OEM alarm behavior
•For most bikes including VROD
•Pigtail kit for wire-in installations also available
•Custom builders use TailBones to eliminate taillight
•Lifetime Warranty"

I can have them ship you one for $65, just let me know!

The BT site is where my gears started grinding this morning. I didn't know which of the 5 variations of the BT300 I should order. I think Josh at True Kustom might have found a solution. Stay tuned. Thanks for the all the info!

I have a Badlands Motorcycle products, ILL-01-SR Illuminator on its way here tomorrow. This is a plug and play module for the 2010 FLHX and FLTRX that will allow two LED lights to act as RUN TURN BRAKE, Which is what Daves new True Kustom G2 rear fender.
