Stretched tanks & seat fitment...are they interchangeable?

I haven't been able to get a straight answer on this one lol.

There are several companies producing stretched fuel tanks, whether it be a stand alone tank, tank shrouds or part of a body kit etc. eg; Yaffe, Sinister, Camtech, RWD, Ballistic

We also know that they're are only a handful of seat manufacturer's that make a seat for those tanks, without having to physically have my bike to work with. eg; Danny Gray, Lepera, Camtech, Sinister (seat pan)

My question is: Can a seat made from different manufacturer's fit with different stretched tanks? Eg: Can a Danny Gray seat fit with a Camtech body kit?

If anyone knows of a seat or tank that'll accept a different seat or tank, please share, thanks.

I love to put a couple of hundred miles on my bike during one ride, but I don't want to sacrifice comfort to get a stretched tank & seat. Plus, I'm looking for something with a little more padding for the passenger than just a small pad.

BTW, I'm aware that some companies just sell a product that they haven't actually made.

The answer is no.

Camtech body kit needs a camtech seat or have one custom made

Yaffe tank require yaffe/lepara seat or have one custom made

Sinister tank requires sinister seat pan or have one cutom made.

It never ends......... You can have a nice custom seat made with gel inserts and you will be ably to ride all day. Hope this helps

I've been researching for an answer for this same problem also. Bad Dads tank cover is SUPPOSED to be able to be used with a standard seat. My problem is I use 3 seats on one bike!

I used to own some shit!
I am going to have two seats. One for just me, and another with a couch on the back for the boss...

No matter what, a custom seat or one designed to fit your tank will always look better than an oem style seat on one of the stretched tanks.

Damn! I really wanted the camtech kit. I was hoping to be able to trim the tank to fit my C&C solo seat. I got 5k to spend and wasn't plannin on spending it on seats

Anything is possible, trim the tank or trim your seat. I'm sure you can make it happen. good luck

Vrog. Did the stock seat that you had modified look and fit ok? I would spring for 1 custom seat but I use a ugly, thick seat for when the girl rides with me. Its only about 25% of the time. I would like to continue to have the "couch" when she goes along

Cjeck out my build thread. It looked fine and was still very comfortable. I had to do a custom seat because it just looked out of place. I would put it back on in a seco.d if my wife complains about the new one.

Vrog; I looked at your build. I just didn't realize that was a stock(but modified) seat. That's great. Thanks got the info.

I just spoke with Cameron over at Camtech & he said that you can modify the stock seat to fit their body kits. Just needs a little trimming up front. Seemed like a pretty nice guy.
