SoCal shop for 23, 7/7 for my RG?

Seeing that this category has been left "unthreaded", I figured I could start.

I'm looking for a reputable shop out here in California. Anywhere from Bakersfield down to San Diego would work. I want to get the neck cut/stretched. I've contacted Yaffe, and they are 4-5 months out!!! That's a lotta riding time w no bike out here. Plus I gotta ride out, fly back.

I know I've seen Camtech offer a $2800 ride in/ride out. While HHI has a $3500 ride in/out price. Anyone know if these ride in/ride out prices include the fairing bracket/support bar for the Road Glides? I assume that doesnt include fender/paint. I'm just trying to get a fair price out here.

In shopping around, I've figured $1500 for parts(trees, fairing bracket, support bar) for RG, not including fender/paint. It seems like a helluva a lotta money in labor, after I pull out the price in parts.

I'm running a stock height Progressive monotube right now in the front end. Will I still be able to use it with the 23? I'm trying to save money wherever I can.

While I'm at it, I have a friend out in NW Missouri that wants to do a 26 and was considering Yaffe as well. He is also looking for a shop closer to him if anyone has some info. Thanks in advance.

Check with all our Vendors, you should be able to find someone within a reasonable distance.

I know a guy who works at a reputable shop in your area. I just sent him an e-mail looking for a link to his shop. As soon as I hear back from him, I'll let you know. I shoot him bike questions all the time, and he's always spot-on.

Hope this will help!

Up in da one fiddy...
I'm trying to do a similar mod myself and and I can tell ya, IMHO... there's some time, tools, and lessons-learned built in to that labor price. Anybody doing this for under $3,000 isn't ripping anybody off. And I can also verify, Yaffe isn't returning phone calls for small orders, dealers or DIY builders... it must be good to be king

I was at a show in California recently where he and his hop had a booth. They werent salesman if you know what I mean. I was all over their bikes looking at how stuff was done, looking under them.....etc. Not one of them said a word to me!

I was on wanaryds website & came across the rake kit. If you cut the neck, weld in the kit do you also need to install new raked trees as well, to get the proper geometry? Or is the rake kit all you need?
