better not.you need to prep first.you dont know the unhidden and out of site condition.i.e rust that might be forming or whatever

So, I'm thinking along the same lines on mine. It would be over fresh powdercoat that is cured. Do you sand with fine paper like 600 or 1000, do your artistic paint work, then clear the whole thing in paint? I'm thinking color coordinating the front rim with the new paint in powder coat on mine and doing some air brush work over top of that.
