Opinions on seats

I am putting on stretched bags and fender and, as you all know, the stock seat has to go. I'm new to the bagger scene and dont know a lot of people around me that ride. I need some recommendations on seats. I am a big guy, 6'3" 300 lbs. What are some seats that would work well for me as far as comfort and looks?

Stock tank?

Stock tank for now. I am going to be going with a bad dad or camtech overlay in a couple months. Got all my money tied up in other mods and new master bath to keep the wife happy right now. Does the camtech overlay come prefit to certain seats or can it be trimmed to fit whatever seat you have? Bad dad's overlay has plenty of extra tank so you can trim it to fit whichever seat is on the bike. I'd like to support the vendors on this site if possible.

Camtech makes seats to fit theirs perfectly, not sure with using other seats.

If vrog doesn't see this pm him, he used to have an HD seat on his.

I have had the hd badlander for over 3 years now. Taken a few long trips, I thnk it is very versatile and cheap. Very sleek looking as well. I wouldn't invest too much into a seat for the stock tank if you are going to strech the tank and need another one soon. You are a bit bigger than me, I think the sundowner might be the next step up still has a lower profile. I would check those out and you might be able to get one used off Craigslist.

I had a Danny Grey butt crack that was pretty comfortable up to about 300 miles.

Check out the drag specialties seats. I think they fit and hug the frame better than any of the other direct fit seats. I always ran danny grey seats, and wasn't the happiest with the gap between frame and seat, specially if your doing a fender overlay. Drag seats fit perfect and are cheap

I stumbled across their website the other night. I'll definately be going by there to check out some options. They are only about 20 minutes from the casa.

Yeah they do good work I can't complain about them at all. Did my seat and backrest to match. Being that close that will be a easy trip for sure

Went by mean city today and dropped off the stock seat. Getting it modified to better fit me and going with the ostrich inserts. Cant wait to see how it turns out. the ones they had in the showroom looked awesome.
