Just mocked up my rear lights. The load (I said load lol) equalizer is super hot! I can't hold it in my hand, for more than 10 seconds hot! Is that normal?

Tap it!

It's hard to quantify but yes, a load resistor will become hot.

A buddy had Cyclevisions - it got so hot that it made his garage smell like burnt electronics. He went round and round with them about it until they finally gave him a refund. Made me nervous about buying LEDs from anyone.

I've found the biketronics are the coolest

Maybe I'll call em up.

I can see this posing a problem if it's mounted in the wrong spot. I'll need to keep an eye on it.

I have a Badlands for the rear turn signals and it barely gets warm. They do recomemd not using the flashers for an extended period.

They also offer Badlands lll which produces no heat.
