Inner Fairing

I have been a fan of raked baggers for a while now and this site has me thinking stronger of cutting and raking my 91. When doing this does the angle of the inner fairing change much on a FLH?

I used to own some shit!
It will change some depending on how you rake it. The inner you just get used to, the outer is available in raked versions.

If you want to keep the stock fairing there are a couple angled head light trim rings out there.

he has no choice but to go with the headlight bucket. his outer fairing and inner fairing are different. that was changed in 1996. it suck. i in the same boat he is . i have a 90 the dashes were the same from around 89 to 95 then change to to what they have now.

I wonder if the whole inner, outer, and switch cap from a late model could be used???

yes ive thought about doing it myself a few years ago. but never did it. have to change everything. mounting hardware gauges innerfairing , outer fairing. and what ever else. i myself could not justify the cost to do so. lol thats why i have not done so .its going to cost a few grand. to do it. but hay give it a whirl.

I think it would be cooler if you would keep your older inner and outer. There is a way to do everything. Just do it, you will figure it out as you go!

How much does the headlight really move, when putting on a 23 or 26 inch wheel? Also will the newer neck kits work on the older frames?

Well, with the rake, if you don't do anything, the headlight will be facing the sky!

Some type of shim would have to be used to bring the headlight back down into the useable range.

It's doable....but will take some time.

NO REASON why you couldnt cut near the headlight and angle it down to what you need to and re fiberglass or whatever they use it back up. pretty much what yaffe does on his service

Ok, thanks slothy. I have already put the 2000-up lower legs on my stock tubes and have no problem, and I still have the air input.

It probably wont happen for a while. Need to do more planning and padding of the wallet.
