Floor Boards vs Forward Controls

Right now im looking for a set of boards or a set of forward controls. I have seen alot that I like and I know boards are more traditional but the forward controls just look so clean. I am concerned that they may not be to comfortable. What do you guys think? Here are a couple of bikes with forward controls

I'll end up with boards unless I can sit on a forward control bike soon. Accutronix makes a nice forward control

I used to own some shit!
I love the look of some clean Forward Controls. Plus that opens up your options if you want to run a belt drive primary.

I love the cycle smith banana boards, there are very comfortable. I think the forward controls "look" better. You can still run a belt drive with floor boards

I also think the Forwards look better. I already bought a set of contrast cut PM Brake and Shift Levers so I just need to find a nice set of boards now.

I also love the look of a couple of the belt drives out there. That will be my very last mod after air ride and anything else that I need.

I have two dynas, one with 3" extensions on for the forward controls (I'm tall) and when I first got my SG, I hated the floor boards. I was soo used to the forwards. Now, I love the boards. So much more room to reposition when needed. I dont think I would put forwards on a bagger.

i was debating on the banana boards or the PM stealth boards. went with the PM cuz they're sexy and they flow with my pegs/levers.

i was suprised at how comfy the PMs were. i can move my feet all around, including riding like it has mid controls. they're also well made, super grippy, and blingin.

the only issue i had was getting the 1" extensions to fit. had to drill the holes out on the drill press. not a hard job, but just a heads up.

I have Accutronic forwards on my 2010 FLTRX. LOVE THEM! I did not like the foot position on the boards plus in the 150 miles that I had boards I dragged them to much. Have not come close to draggin these forwards yet! Bike is lower now also then it was stock and still ride edge to edge on the tires. I also have had only bikes with pegs before this so that may alter my feelings also. Last bike before this was a 2008 night rod special and prior was sport bikes and dirt/enduro/ super motobikes... I went with the "normal" length forwards from Accutronic and thinking that I could have gone with the 3" extended. You can still use multiple positions on the pegs and also throw your heels onto the top of the pegs.

GO WITH FORWARDS!!!!:encouragement:

Back in the day I had a fat boy then went to a night train and hated the forwards, found myself resting my heels on the primary and nose cone. Jut my 2 cents

If I was trying to drag knee around corners then maybe I would get forward controls, but I like the look of boards and the room they give me to move around. I was hoping Santa was going to bring me banana boards but no such luck:(

...here you go.

Very cool. Thanks for the pix.

Heads-up for others: I bought a black Lindby Linbar engine guard and it won't work if you have your boards moved forward with extenders. Doubt the linbar would work with any sort of banana boards either but would love to hear if somebody has found a working combination.

That's a bummer if the above hold true on a RK. That is the set up I was going for (Bananas plus Linbar). Anyone have a solution?thug life 2.jpg I can't tell how long these boards are but they can't be too much longer than Bananas(?)
