Bill
I used to own some shit!
I had the pleasure of meeting Cameron and the crew at Camtech Custom Baggers www.camtechcustom.com yesterday. I am using a bunch of their parts on my new bike and wanted to see them first hand prior to making the order, plus it's nice to put a face with a name.
I don't know what I expected, but what I saw when I arrived was definately not it. For one, this is no bike shop. It is a freakin Custom Bagger Complex! They are manufacturing metal, fiberglass, and carbon fiber parts along with paint, powder, graphics, custom seats, custom frames, audio, one-off foot controls and lighting, and even a few hot rods. I think they had something like 30 builds going on with 26" wheels or larger, not to mention the two all custom CanAm Spyders and the triked chopper.
You could sum the shop in one word... Overwhelming, I have never been to a facility like Camtechs where they are doing EVERYTHING in house from manufacturing to engine building.
And as for Cameron, he has got to be the nicest 6'8" dude I have ever met. He dropped what he was doing when I got there, gave me a full 1 hour tour himself, and then let me roam around on my own for as long as needed taking pics. I also met around 20 employees "who's names I cannot remember" and every one of them where talented craftsmen, not bolt-putter-inners...
I'll let the pics speak for themselves...
