Can anodized wheels be powdercoated/painted?

I'm getting my 23 which is black anodized. I was wondering if parts of the wheel could be painted and how it would hold up. Or could parts be powdercoated?

Anodize is hard material. The best method is to sandblast of the ano and start from fresh aluminium. Then it can be painted or powder coated. Are you looking to do one color or ad some art to your wheel?

It's a 5 spoke 3d wheel. I'm thinking of doing the spokes or the outer rim.

I just talked to Andrews Powdercoating out here in SoCal and he said , no problem. They have to blast the wheel anyway, so it's just a matter of masking off.

Eastwood sells anodize and powder coat remover. You gotta let the parts sit in the solution and just wash it off.

Heavy duty easy off oven cleaner will do the same thing. Might take a couple times but it will come off. I do it to AN fittings all the time.

Cool beans. Thanks guys. I'm gonna wait and see how the black wheel looks with the black denim first. But I wanted to see what options I had. And if I needed to just have the wheel shipped raw.

Get your EZ Off ready just in case, Shane. Haha.

That stuff also works great for taking pinstriping off.
