Up in da one fiddy...
I've never been there. A guy I work with told me about a 6-week guided hunting/fishing trip where the mosquitoes were so thick, you couldn't help but breath them in. Alaska sounds like a life changing experience and potentially life-threatening... it's on my bucket list.

ya i wanna ride there so bad, but from michigan a 2 week vacation trip would be pushing it and once you get into the yukon terr - there is no 1000 miles days safely to make up time. reason why i ended up in newfoundland this past summer instead of alaska.

I live in Eagle River. Its about 10 mins out side anchorage. Its cool to see all the bikes up here in the summer that are from the lower 48. A lot of touring bmw's and mostly stock harley baggers

cool, ya id love to take a hike/offroad ride to the bus in denali park from the movie into the wild - im obsessed with that story lol.

I used to own some shit!
That movie is the shizzle... I also like the book about Aron Ralston 127 hours. "The movie sucked compared to the book!"

The guys that really live they want to are definately among the people I admire.

Iv never been to that bus. I Like the book and movie of it too. But you can only get in there for a little while each summer and like the movie and book you really can get stuck in there easy. The river can change in 15 mins and you'd be screwed haha. And its a pretty long hike from what I understand. Now that I have the bike I plan on seeing a lot more things this summer since I wont be getting 10 MPG in the truck. Those trips can drain a bank account quick with just fuel. I also havnt done much camping in a tent since we got a cabin and a 5th wheel for travling. So this summer should be all around great. Pack a tent and a little food and beverages haha and go out for a whole weekend. Thing i love about my bike already is I have it set up with a single seat and no tour pack, But in 5 mins I can have one of my three seats on and tour pack on and ready to go. Just to tease all you 48'ers One trip I already have planned is to take off from my house head up to fairbanks (right where denali parks at) camp for the night with some friends, Then wake up the next day and take the opposite way back south to valdez and camp there for a night and then ride home sunday. Be all over the north end of alaska and back home for a good nights sleep for work on monday. We really have it made up here. Also I want to go explore around the south end of alaska. Kodiak hains the to the capitol that really shouldn't be our capitol then head back home.Should be a great summer on the bagger. This is the whole reason I bought a bagger at 22. Seemed like the best choice for me.

Our roads arnt bad. I heard the alcan was but I know for sure they have been re doing it for a while and from what i understand its pretty good now. Seems like we all have pretty much the same hobbies. My diesel truck was taking all my extra money into making it how I wanted and was alway that one last part I wanted. Now i have two thing I with the one last part for now haha it never ends.
