I am pretty sure that is an HHI. Typical production weld, not the prettiest but it's more than strong enough. There is so much weld area on these things "What HHI welds and the user welds" that you could probably only weld half of it and never have an issue.
Just another day in the motorcycle industry, just about everyone does it in this industry to some degree. IMO at least they do a better job and charge less
Again, I wasn't trying to knock what you do at all. Like I said, that was the closest shot of a HHI neck I have seen. I am just surprised that they put out a product that looks like that.
I know of a place locally that started their own kit and it is clean. HHI actually gets their kits from a shop in Cincinnati, Ohio. He builds them and they sell them under their name.

We've done both. I think the HHI " actually JYC kit" is better from the stand point it's alot faster and less labor intense. If you take your time and finish it off right. It will look just as nice done.

I have the one that was posted from "ebay" on my bike. I've also seen one from HHI and it looked like I welded it. If I have a choice between a mig welded part and a tig welded product, I'll take the tig welded one always. here's a pic of the weld on mine.
