2012 SG Sinister bags and fender project!!

Finally got bike back from getting tuned. Got my bags in and ordering the fender tomorrow. Anybody know know the amount to cut off the bag for the 2-1 v&h pro pipe. Once I get the rear fender in ill mock it up and test fit before paint. Idk if im going to paint whole bike stock color or do something else. Any ideas.

Whatever you do take the inner fairing off and send it to paint with the bags. It really sets the bike off nicely

The Pro Pipe is 4 5/8" around, if I remember correctly. Each bike is slightly different. You'll need to trim it & re-fit till it's where you like it. Make sure you leave enough room for vibration/expansion.
That's a sharp color. Like crutter said, paint your inner fairing to match.

Yea im working on getting it close. Using a 2inch flapper wheel taking off little by little. Still have little triming to do. Think we going paint it a lambo orange or a green. Idk yet still debating.

Gonna look good. Take your time. Being Impatient is your biggest enemy. Keep your factory color and add Metallic silver flake to the bottom of the tank, fairing, side covers and bags.

got fender in today and have everything apart. anybody have a clue on the best way to mount the fender up and shave it for the exhaust. the fender has some indents where it looks like the mounting nuts screw on.

Body saw, dremel, sanding drum, hole saw, etc.. are good for the exhaust cutout. Just take your time and remember cutting too little is better than cutting too much!

Hey bill. What's best way to mount seat bolt piece. It has a metal plate under the fender. Do I use the stock hardware for the seat bolt. And the indented for the mounting blocks to the fender have a circle I guess u drill to mount it at. And those the fender mount to the bottom bracket where that one bolt was on the stock fender near the running light

Yep thats what I did. #7 drill and 1/4"-20 tap I believe.

Now why would it have a gap on right side between fender and bag.

I just fit a set of sinister bags and fender on my 2010 street glide. I had to tweak the bag mount a little, but it doesn't take much to get things to line up nice. Not the greatest pic, but here's a shot. Mine looked just like yours before I tweaked the bracket.

Just loosen the rear bolts and pull it in. If there isn't enough room you can elongate the bolt holes.

Also make sure the rubber is in at the bottom.

After a little tweaking and few shims I think I have it. Have to trim little more on the fender tho
