"05 RK on 26" for sale/trade

Somebody either talk me out of this, or buy it so I can move on.... 51k in receipts- 30k takes it home. 2 people bought it on Ebay, and I guess both of them were dead. Harley wont take it on trade because of the frame (HD drag bike chassis builder cut it, but it doesn't matter to them). I am getting frustrated. I want a bike with a fairing, or another sport.... TONS of info and specs available upon request. [email protected]

I used to own some shit!
You could always turn that into a fairing equipped bike. I researched that before selling my King, pretty easy to do.

By the time I put a fairing on and do new switch housings, wiring, blah, blah- it would cost me $6000. Easy. I'm not trying to be a pessimist, but I haven't spared an expense anywhere on the bike (other than a solid rear wheel, and I am still kicking myself for that ), so doing a "budget fairing" is out of the question. In MY mind, I have created the best RK I am possible of creating. I just hoped somebody would see it for that and want the bike as a RK. I could do a Glide and still enjoy it knowing I had the chance to sell it for a small loss later and build another bike. When I said I had 51k in the bike, I'm not adding all of the BS o-rings, quarts of oil, HD bolt kits, etc. I dropped a ton of bread in this thing (which I do not regret), but I need to stop now before it gets worse. EX: I bought 3 sets of bags to get the right ones. You have no way of knowing until you put your eyes on them. People are scared to call a spade on the forums because of the advertising $ I guess. I bought a $800 tank and spent 12 hours ($85 hr) getting it good enough to paint! That being said- it looks gooood (IMO). But so much of this stuff out there is junk, and I don't want to start junking up the bike now. I put much thought into the direction of this bike and I defiantly didn't buy a "starter kit" from some parts stamper. It just gets frustrating seeing the "custom bike world" turn into the import stick on plastic crap scene... Sorry for the rant.

I watched the whole video. The bike is amazing. I love everything about it. Do you want the fairing for the looks, wind protection, or the stereo? It is a very sweet bike for sure! If you just want to start over, then I guess get rid of it.

Wind protection and a stereo. I am an hour away from any other bikers so I am worn-out by the time I get to the place we all meet up to ride! I think I would also like a 6 speed. Maybe I just want something new.....

And thanks for the compliment!

i have seen your bike before its very nice.

I also think doing a fairing would be the cheap way out. I dont know where you are getting $6K?? I would think $4k said and done would be tops.

But hey, If you want to just get rid of it and start over i totally understand. I have done that several times too! Good Luck

Here is my thought: Since I have the billet gauge on the triple clamp, it means I would have to build a custom inner for the RG fairing to house a head unit and speakers. $1000 for a fairing, $2000 for stereo, $2500 for inner build and paint, $500 because it is a Harley!

Matching the paint is pretty complex, plus the fiberglass cant be stuck around some wood scraps like they show on TV. I spent a bunch of time getting that nacelle right since most of them cover the bar clamp. test panel for Owen's king, ghosted silver speedlines 011.jpg

Owen,

JD here who offered you the low mile BMW745Li and some cash for your bike a year ago.. I have some ideas on your stereo and fairing options and i have seen the work the guy does, not as much as we think on the price...

Reach out to me and i'll give you my number.

As for the 6 speed, switch it out for a baker, problem solved on that..

By the time you start over again you are so close i would just get the mods done to what you have, but, that's my .02...

Hey, i tried to get you out of this a year ago.. LOL... Kidding ya.. Have a good one man..

If it sold on ebay you can file a claim and the winner has to buy it. Or get with some guys on here converting to roadglides and make you sweet bike a sweet street glide with their old parts. Just a thought.
